An American Company. Slovak Working Bloodlines.
Working Line German Shepherds for Sale
A working line German Shepherd is bred to do a job well every day for a decade, not to look the part. Slovak Protection Dogs USA is an American company with its own training center in Slovakia. We place a dog only when the match is right, because a dog like this is worth nothing otherwise.

A Working Dog in a Family Home
The question we field more than any other is whether a dog bred to work can be trusted around small children.
Drive and aggression are not the same quality, and buyers who confuse them end up afraid of the dog they paid for. What you want is high drive paired with an equally high threshold, so that the doorbell, visiting cousins and a loud kitchen read as ordinary household noise rather than something to answer. That threshold is bred for, then confirmed where it matters: our dogs grow up in family households, around children, long before they are offered to anyone.
No honest trainer will call a dog a machine. What we can tell you is how that threshold looks in a real house: he notices, he settles, and the moment passes.
We allow a full month for settling in, and Peter is reachable through all of it. Most of the households we place into are exactly that: a family dog first, protection second. Our family protection dogs page goes through what that looks like day to day.
Working Line and Show Line: What Actually Differs
Working lines and show lines have been bred toward opposite goals for decades, and the difference turns up in the dog who lives in your house. Show lines are selected for the ring, where conformation and movement carry the most weight, while working lines are selected for the job itself: stable nerves under pressure, the willingness to keep going when the work stops being interesting, and a structure built for a working life.
The working purpose came first: the breed's written standard, published by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale, records that methodical breeding began in 1899 with "the ultimate objective of creating a working dog inclined to high achievements." You usually notice it first in the back, which stays straighter, and in the coat, which more often runs sable or solid black.
Europe maintains several working traditions you will hear named as though they were separate breeds: the older DDR lines, the Czech border-patrol lines, the West German working lines.
For a buyer the question is narrower: this dog needs a job, a routine and a handler who follows through, and if your week has no room for that routine, we would rather say so before you buy. Our training method is built around that.

From Slovakia to Your Door
We place dogs across the United States.
Every dog travels with an FCI-recognized pedigree, full veterinary and travel certificates, and the CDC import paperwork in order before he boards.
A master trainer from our team flies with your dog from Slovakia to your home, and stays to settle him into your routine and coach the adults who will handle him.
Before you commit, you meet your dog on a live video call from Slovakia and see exactly who is coming. Every dog undergoes health and genetic screening before travel, arrives with up to two years of coverage for congenital defects, and is backed by our 90-day guarantee and lifetime support.

Slovak Working Lines, Selected One at a Time
Slovakia has bred working German Shepherds for generations, and Peter has worked inside that tradition since 1999, long enough to know the kennels behind these lines rather than buy a dog on a pedigree he has never seen work. We select almost exclusively from Slovak working lines, with the occasional standout dog from a neighboring European program.
What arrives at your door is a finished dog, not a project. That means complete obedience on and off leash, settled house manners, and protection work tested against real behavior rather than a rehearsed routine on a sport field. Keeping him sharp is short, consistent daily work that we show you in your own home, not a second job.
